Lake Tahoe

We spent two days in Lake Tahoe. The first day we spent completely at the "beach." It started off as a cool morning, but pretty soon the sun warmed us all up. The water was very chilly, but the girls had fun. The most fun was spent in the boat with daddy. We had a picnic lunch on the beach and then a picnic dinner at the picnic tables. 

The next day, we took a little time getting going then headed into town to Heavenly Village. This is a ski resort with a gondola and lots of cute shops. We didn't do the gondola, but walked around the shops and had a yummy lunch at Azul. Super good tacos and chips and salsa!  Then we headed back down to the beach from the previous day and took a sight-seeing cruise on the M.S. Dixie. The views were spectacular. We could see Emerald Bay up close. The colors of the lake were just amazing. When we returned, we drove up to Cave Rock where the road goes directly through a huge rock. We stopped at a vista point and again were treated to spectacular views. We ended the trip with some yummy pizza at Blue Dog Cafe' then headed back to camp for our first campfire of the trip.

As you can see from the pictures, the campfire and s'more making was a success. The girls love roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. It was a nice evening and we are very grateful that the bear that visited the campground that evening decided to wait until we were all tucked inside our beds. That's a sight we didn't need to see! Lake Tahoe is definitely a place I would like to return to one day, possibly during ski season so I can sit and drink hot cocoa while the others ski!
