Mount St. Helens

On Wednesday we visited Mt. St. Helens. It's amazing how every mountain we are seeing has it's own unique landscape and look. The girls really liked learning about this volcano. We watched a brief video on the 1982 eruption and attended a Ranger Talk. The girls have officially taken to becoming Junior Rangers at the places we visit. They get a workbook upon entry and walk around the exhibit, attend a ranger talk and complete pages in their booklet. Then they can turn it in, have it checked by a ranger and take a ranger pledge. They get a keepsake badge once all of that is completed. We love it because it has them actively involved in learning. Megan said she learned about Mt. St. Helens this year in school, so she was very interested in learning more. We didn't take a hike here, just stayed awhile at the visitor center and took in the breathtaking views. Then we headed down the mountain and over to our friend's home in Bremmerton to visit with them.
